Spiritual matters

October 29, 2014

A famed Godman was once travelling for some personal work with a loyal disciple of his. While on the flight, he delivered a lecture to the disciple, and did so during the return flight too.
The flight on the way back landed, and while they were waiting for their baggage, the disciple (who was a bit of a chatterbox) said to the Godman:
“You know, Guru-ji, on the first flight we were consistently cruising at an altitude of 39,000 ft., but on the way back we never crossed 35,000”.
“I see”, replied the Godman.
“Oh, and another thing, Guru-ji,” the disciple continued, “I hope you don’t mind my saying this, but I felt that your sermon on the first flight was a lot more profound than the one you gave on the way back.”
“Well,” replied the Godman, “I suppose the first time around I was thinking on a higher plane.”
